Renting A Roll-Off Dumpster For Your Cleanup Project

Posted on

Anytime you have a lot of trash, construction debris, or waste material to deal with, a roll-off container can help you streamline the process of removing it. Instead of hauling the trash to the dump, the container company will bring the container to you, simplifying the process of cleaning up the trash or debris.

Selecting a Container

When you are ready to rent a container for your cleanup, you need to talk to the rental company about what you are putting in the roll-off container. Some companies will only allow specific types of material to go in the container, so make sure you are clear about what can go in and what cannot.

Mixing materials can result in a fine or a refusal to pick up the container until you sort out the material and remove what is prohibited.

Determining the Size of the Container

When you are ready to rent the container for your project, you will need to decide just how large a container you need. The size of the container may be relative to what you are putting in the container, but it may also need to fit in a specific location on your property. If you have size limitations, picking up a smaller container and having it emptied more often may be necessary.

Some companies will rent the container by the day, others by the size. But in almost every case, the company that owns the container will charge a fee to dump it, so getting the largest container you can afford and fit on the property could save you some money in the long run.

Placing the Container

When you are selecting a place for the container on the property, try and put it where it will be easy to load. If you are cleaning out a house, putting it close to a door or window can make it easier to fill. If you are cleaning up debris outside, the location should be close to the work if possible, but not in the way of moving equipment around if you are using things like a skid-steer loader on the job.

Keep in mind, the truck that is hauling the container needs to be able to drive in and out of the property without getting stuck or tearing up the soil. If the ground is soft where you are considering putting the container, it is a good idea to look at other areas of the property or have some gravel put down before the container is delivered.
